Risk Assessment Tools Seminar co hosted by PAS and Tooks Chambers. 16.30-19.30 26 April 2007. To be held at Tooks Chambers, 8 Warner Yard, Warner Street, London, EC1R 5E. £25 per person. 3 CPD points available.
The seminar will be given by Jackie Craissati, who is the Head of Forensic Clinical Psychology for the Oxleas Trust with particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of sex offenders, and personality disordered offenders. The following issues will be covered:
- A summary of the key features and purpose of the two approaches to the assessment of risk: Acturial risk assessment. Clinical risk assessment.
- An overview of the value of both approaches to the risk assessment of prolific violent and/or sexual offenders.
- Concerns about the value or limits of the above risk assessment tools in relation to prolific violent and/or sexual offenders.
- An overview of the following risk assessment tools (including details of their puropse, key features and value): OASYS, Offender Group Reconviction Scale. Violent Risk Assessment Guide. HCR-20. Psychopathy Checklist - revised. Risk Matrix 2000. Structured Assessment of Risk and Need. Penile Plethysmograph.
