Prisoners' Advice Service is a unique London-based registered charity, set up sixteen years ago by leading prison reform and civil liberties organisations, to provide legal advice and representation to prisoners in England and Wales. It has a reputation among prisoners and their legal advisers for high quality legal advice and excellent casework.
PAS is seeking to recruit a LOCUM RACE DISCRIMINATION CASEWORKER to provide legal advice to prisoners regarding their rights, particularly to prisoners who are experiencing race discrimination. This is a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave and will have a start date of the beginning of 2008.
Candidates must be committed to prisoners' rights, have experience of legal advice work / case work concerning race discrimination issues. Experience of civil litigation and legal aid is essential.
