“Alternatives to Violence Project” – New to PAS
PAS was contacted today by a non-profit new to the charity.
The Alternatives to Violence Project, Britain is a registered charity which enables vulnerable and marginalised people, in prisons and in the wider community, to handle conflict without committing, or suffering from, acts of violence of any kind. This is achieved through the provision of workshops inside prisons, and a free distance learning programme for prisoners, ‘Facing Up to Conflict’ (FUTC). Since FUTC was launched in 2011, more than 5,200 prisoners, in over 100 different prisons, have enrolled on the course, with approximately 66% successfully completing it. 98% of them said that they were now better at handling conflict and solving problems.
